Check the school’s honor roll, and there you’ll see it: Keith is at the top of his class! He’s a very intelligent child who enjoys studying and being on the computer, but also loves to play outside. With lots of energy to burn, Keith will play basketball, ride his scooter, or spend the day at the beach. He plays well with other children and gets along with his peers, although it may take him a little while to make friends or warm up to people. And if you ever need a helping hand, just ask Keith – he’s always willing to pitch in!
Keith deserves parents who are patient and understanding, and can help model appropriate ways to address anger and frustration. While he would do well in either a single-parent or two-parent home, his team feels as though a two-parent home with a strong male role model would probably be best.
Since he is used to being in a big family, he would probably be fine with either younger or older children in the home. (But, Keith notes that he’s not sure he wants a really big family.) Keith’s team is hopeful that an adoptive family can be found for Keith that will allow him to keep contact with his brother. Interested families should understand the impact that trauma can have on a child.
