Foster and adopted children often present parents with certain challenges that are formidable and unique. As foster and adoptive parents, we are regularly faced with the complexities and dilemmas that our children’s behavioral and mental health conditions present. In turn, most of us focus our energies almost exclusively on our children, losing sight of our own individual needs and neglecting the consistent connections that a relationship requires to endure successfully. Join Julie and David Bulitt, adoptive parents and authors of the award-winning book, ‘The Five Core Conversations for Couples,’ to discuss the distinct difficulties faced by foster and adoptive parents as well as strategies to keep your own relationship with your partner stable and strong.
