Two young adult adoptees will share how being adopted shaped their identity, what the transition from foster child to adoptee felt like, what their adoptive families got right, and a few things they hope families do differently.
Both women acknowledge that growing up adopted wasn’t easy…for them or their adoptive families. But, they also both credit the consistent guidance, unwavering support, and “We’re not going anywhere” love of their adoptive families with helping them become who they are today: dedicated, passionate child welfare specialists who draw on their lived experience in their work with families and youth.
Recommended Family Forums are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, and are intended to be a time of education, constructive dialogue, and support. To participate, you must be actively recommended with Indiana Adoption Program.
All Recommended families will receive an email inviting them to register for the upcoming Forum. Upon completing registration, the family will receive an email with the Microsoft Teams link needed to access the meeting.
