Family Forum: Self-Care is More Than A Spa Day

Family Forums are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, and are intended to be a time of education, constructive dialogue, and support. Occasionally, topics of particular interest to families may also be discussed during a lunch hour forum.
More Than a Spa Day: Self-Care for Foster and Adoptive Parents
Who doesn’t love a good spa day? Being pampered, getting rid of all that stress you’ve been carrying around in your shoulders, having cool cucumbers placed on your eyes…. Ahhhh, this is self-care!
Absolutely. But – when you’re a foster or adoptive parent, you need more than just a chance to relax. Join us for a candid discussion about what it really looks like to take care of yourself while raising kids from tough places. What’s standing in the way of your self-care? And once you manage to engage in some good taking care of yourself, how can you keep that going?
