National Adoption Month is celebrated every November, and is intended to honor adoptive families as well as raise awareness of the need for adoptive homes for waiting youth in foster care.

November is National Adoption Month, a time to raise awareness about the value of adoption, especially of children and youth in the foster care system. Wednesday, November 16, 2023, has been designated “Adoption Day” in Allen County. This special day will celebrate and honor families who adopt children.

The Allen County Department of Child Services (DCS), Allen Superior Court, Family Relations Division, and Indiana Adoption Program are collaborating with local agencies to celebrate the adoptions of more than 31 local children. Adoption ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Allen County Courthouse.
