The Impact of Adoption on the Entire Family

Family Forums are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, and are intended to be a time of education, constructive dialogue, and support. Occasionally, topics of particular interest may also be discussed during a lunch hour forum or on another weekday evening.
The Impact of Adoption on the Entire Family
Adoption has an impact on the adopted child, of course. That’s a given! When we’re not talking about the impact of adoption on the adopted child, we’re usually focused on the adoptive parents and what their adjustment is like. But, it’s easy to forget that adoption will impact everyone in a family – even if the family members don’t live in the home.
Join us as we explore the impact of adoption on biological children, other adopted or foster children, and extended family members. This is an especially pertinent discussion as we near the holidays and many additional family members may be visiting.
